Mission, Values and Outcomes
Mission Statement:
Creekside Church exists to glorify God through presenting the saving grace and truth of Jesus Christ to every man, woman and child, joining them into loving relationships with Jesus and other believers.
Values:
Our desire is that each person at Creekside Church would know God and embrace the values of: God, Truth, Love, Mission and allow them to shape who they are and how they live.
God
Because God is the center of everything, we exist to glorify Him. We value God because He is the creator and beginning of all things. He holds everything together. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-present, everlasting and the giver of Salvation.
- God is the beginning of all things (Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-4).
- God is Center (Acts 17:28, Colossians 1:15-20).
- God is mighty to save (Psalm 89, Zephaniah 3:17).
- God reigns forever (Ps 93, 97, Isaiah 52:7, Revelation 19:6)
- God has transformed our lives through the work of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
- God longs for passionate followers (John 4:23-24).
- We live for His glory (Psalm 115:1-3).
Truth
Because the Word of God is Truth, it is the foundation on which we build our lives. We value Jesus as the Truth. He as represented by the truth of Scripture, reveals God’s character, plan and Salvation. All Scripture is God-breathed, living and active, the foundation on which we build our lives.
- God has revealed His truth to us through Jesus (John 1:14-17, 14:6).
- God has revealed His truth to us in the Scriptures and they are the foundation for our lives (Matthew 7:24-27; 2 Timothy 3:16).
Love
Because God is love and first loved us, our response should be to love Him and others. We value love because God is love. He first lavished his unconditional love upon us, which compels us to love Him and others. These are the two greatest commandments.
- Love God…Love others (Matthew 22:36-40).
- Love is the motivation for all we do (2 Corinthians 5:13-15).
- We are building a community of Faith, Hope, Love (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Mission
Because God has invited us to join Him on His mission, we are compelled to discover and engage in His purposes. We value mission because God has commissioned us to make disciples of every man, woman, and child. We are created to glorify God by living out that mission with God.
- We are called to make disciples of every man, woman and child (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:7-11).
- God has invited us to join Him on His mission, and it is our privilege to partner with Him and represent Him (Acts 20:24).
Outcomes
These values would then be expressed in the life of a disciple in the following ways:
Intimacy with God:
- Pursuing intimacy with God through spending time daily with Him in prayer and Bible study.
- A detailed knowledge and understanding of God that comes from pursuing Him as our greatest treasure.
Qualitative Distinctiveness:
- Demonstrate the qualitative distinctiveness of discipleship in their lives and relationships. A qualitative distinctiveness is the acting presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of the church that demonstrates the character of God and distinguishes his people from an unbelieving world.
Grace Story:
- Embracing the fullness of the Gospel and being transformed by it in such a way that we desire to live out and share God’s message with others.
Spiritual Giftedness:
- Discovering who God has uniquely made us to be and surrendering ourselves to His purpose.
Stewardship of Life:
- Faithfully using everything God has entrusted to us to reflect His glory.
